I don’t know about you, but I always like to have something baking come autumn. There’s no better cure for a bad day than coming home to the jar of oatmeal cookies you baked last night. How about waking up to a batch of muffins you took an afternoon off to make? Baking also does wonders for your social stance. Need more friends? Start baking! I guarantee if you show up to work tomorrow with homemade brownies everyone will be your BFF by the end of the day.
It also feels good to give away homemade baked goods. Forgot your friends birthday? Chocolate chip cookies and a bit of ribbon are all you need to look like you’ve been thinking about it all week. Of course, it feels even better just to eat all your baked goods yourself, until it backfires and your stomach hurts the rest of the night. Who knew the innocent items in your pantry could give you such a stomach ache?
Baking doesn’t always have to be sweet though. How about firing up a fabulous fall dinner in the form of a pizza or a pot pie? Bread is great and savory muffins are unexpected. There is something wonderful about rolling out homemade dough while the oven heats up on a chilly evening. Cue cozy feelings.
I’m excited to share some of my favorite baking recipes with you this season. In the mean time, what’s your favorite thing to bake when the temperatures drop?
